Misadventures in the City of Angels
Three friends embark on a cross-country road trip from Kansas City to Los Angeles with an exciting gig lined up – or so they think. They’re convinced that their indie rock band is opening for Green Day at the iconic Whisky a Go Go on New Year’s Eve. Little do they know, however, this trip will become a wild and unforgettable ride.
Some highlights of their journey
• A detour to the Grand Canyon, where they hike down into the canyon in search of hidden treasures• A visit to a quirky roadside diner serving giant burgers and fries• A chance encounter with a local music producer who offers them an impromptu recording session
| Location | Date | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Canyon, Arizona | New Year’s Eve (minus one day) | A short hike down into the canyon revealed an unexpected cave filled with glittering crystals and ancient Native American artifacts. |
| Diner near Needles, California | January 1st | The waitstaff wore festive sweaters and the menu boasted giant “New Year’s Day” pancakes with multiple toppings. |
| Recording studio in Los Angeles | January 2nd-3rd | A brief meeting turned into an impromptu jam session, resulting in an unreleased Green Day-inspired track written by the trio. |
But what happens next?
The band eventually discovers their supposed gig is actually a misprint and there’s no way to open for Green Day. However, their adventure has left them with a lifetime of stories and memories.
